Why does the iPhone alarm stop working suddenly? 8 Ways to Solve the Problem

The iPhone alarm sound is very powerful, but it may stop working suddenly, and one of the reasons why it stops activating the "bedtime" feature.

There are also occasional errors in the alarm app when updating the iOS beta version, which may be due to erroneous settings in the iPhone app at other times, as well as the possibility of a difference in the current time zone if you are travelling.

Fix the alarm clock problem "iPhone

1. Upgrading the volume

iPhone's ringing sound level controls how loud the alerts are, the louder the ringing sound the higher the alarm sound, and to raise your iPhone ringing volume you have to open the settings and click "Sounds and Touch."

The slider below the bells and alerts (Ringer And Alerts) controls the level of ringing sound on the iPhone, and the higher you move the slider to the right the level of ringing.

2. Adjusting the alarm sound

When you set an alarm on an iPhone, you have the option to set a certain tone, so as to control the tone that will work, but if you select the "none" option as a tone to be played when the alarm works, the iPhone will not make any sound, which is one reason why the alarm does not work.

Open the clock and press the alarm tab at the bottom of the screen, click "Edit" at the top corner and click on the alarm that doesn't work.

If iOS 15 (iOS 15) is installed on iPhone you can simply click the alarm without clicking Edit first, so you can select the tone to play when the alarm works, make sure not to select "Nothing" as a sound, if "nothing" is selected you have to click the audio and select something else, a small selection mark will appear next to the sound you select, when you are satisfied with the tone you set click "Save" on the top left corner of the screen.

3- Reset settings

There is likely to be a software problem that prevents iPhone from making a sound when the alarm is working, it can be difficult to track such issues in software, so you have to reset all settings and return everything in the settings app to virtual factory settings.

To reset all settings on your iPhone open settings and click "General" then "Transfer" or "Reset iPhone," then "Reset all settings," click "Reset all settings" to confirm the reset, your iPhone will be turned off and on again when the reset is completed.

4. Check well the alarm settings

Most of the time, the reason is the user's fault, which often improperly adjusts the alarm, such as choosing "evening" (PM) instead of "AM" or vice versa, or believing that the alarm was set to repeat the alarm every day in what was actually set for once.

To check run the clock app, click on the alarm sign at the bottom of the page, find the alarm clock that didn't work the way you wanted, check the time and set up the "morning" or "evening", and see if it is set to repeat on the weekdays you want, if not click on it and make the necessary changes.

5. Ensure that the phone is not connected to the Bluetooth device

There is a way an alarm can make a sound but you don't pay attention to it, where the sound is played through a connected audio device, such as headphones, earphones or a portable speaker located in another room, you can make sure there are no connected Bluetooth devices, or simply close the Bluetooth and then restart it again.
Any connected devices will be disconnected, so as to ensure that the alarm runs through the iPhone speaker, to do this go to the control center and press the Bluetooth icon, then wait about 5 seconds, then you can restart the Bluetooth again or leave it closed if you prefer.

6. Restart the iPhone

There may be a software glitch that prevents the alarm from working properly, this type of bug can be removed by turning off the iPhone and then restarting it again.

7. Update the clock application

It is possible that some type of software error or incompatibility prevents the clock app from working properly, so your iPhone apps must be updated, as Apple always issues updates to fix small problems and introduce new features.

iPhone should update apps automatically, but if this does not happen, update the clock app and any other apps waiting to update, then try to activate the alarm again.

8. Use of different alarm clock application

If you've tried everything and the alarm still doesn't work maybe you should change the clock app, there are plenty of alert apps, and maybe you can find alternatives you like too (or better) than the clock app.

Tip: Best Alternative Alarm Clock Apps (Loud Alarm Clock), Alarmy and Alarm Clock for Me.

If the alarm does not work on the iPhone, there may be a problem with the device or perhaps a problem with the speaker if your iPhone does not make any sound at all. If you cannot solve the problem you can contact Apple support.
